Invisalign Clear Aligners in Sidcup

Introduction

If you have always wanted straighter teeth but feel you missed the boat not having braces as a teenager, it is never too late. Smile Sensations now offers Invisalign, the world's leading clear aligner system, from our practice in Sidcup.

Invisalign uses a series of custom-made, transparent aligners to gradually move your teeth into the right position. No wires, no brackets, and no metal to irritate your mouth. The aligners are removable, so you can take them out when eating or brushing your teeth, and most people around you will never know you are wearing them.

Why Invisalign?

Clear aligners suit a wide range of patients, from teenagers to adults, and can address many of the same concerns that braces traditionally treat.

The main reasons patients choose Invisalign:

  • The aligners are virtually invisible, so most people will not notice you are wearing them
  • They are removable, so you eat, drink, brush, and floss as normal
  • There are no metal components to irritate the inside of your mouth
  • Appointments are typically less frequent than with traditional braces

Treatment time depends on your case, but many patients see results sooner than they expect

Frequently Asked Questions

    Is Invisalign right for me?

Obviously, a consultation at Smile Sensations will be necessary to confirm if you’re a suitable candidate, but generally if you have crooked front teeth but your bite is not affected, then Six Month Smiles could be the ideal solution for you.

Two options to suit your case

We offer two Invisalign options depending on your needs.

        Invisalign Lite is a shorter course suited to mild cases;
Invisalign Comprehensive handles a broader range of concerns.

Dr Burmi will recommend the right option for you at your consultation.

    How does Invisalign work?

Once your consultation is complete, a full 3D digital scan of your mouth is taken (no impressions or moulds). From this, a precise treatment plan is created that maps out every stage of your tooth movement.

You will receive a bespoke series of aligners; each one is worn for approximately two weeks before moving to the next.

At each review visit, Dr Burmi will assess the movement of your teeth and supply your next aligners. An Invisalign Lite case typically requires fewer aligners than a Comprehensive case; the total number is confirmed at the planning stage.

    How are my aligners fitted?

At your fitting appointment, Dr Burmi will ask whether you are happy for photographs to be taken. These are used to document your starting point and will be compared with photos taken at the end of treatment.

She will show you your aligners, explain how many are in your series, and walk you through how to place and remove them. You will have the chance to practise until you are confident. Once you are happy, you are ready to go

    How do I wear them?

You wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss.

The more consistently you wear them, the more predictable your result.

What happens at the end of treatment?

Once treatment is complete, we provide a retainer to hold your teeth in their new position. Wearing your retainer as directed is what keeps the result long term.
